Time matters
Waiting can cost you choices. These are the clocks we see most often.
Sued in North Carolina? An answer to a civil complaint is generally due 30 days after you are served (N.C. R. Civ. P. 12(a)(1)).
Notified by DSS that your name may go on the Responsible Individuals List? You generally have 15 days after you receive the notice to ask a court to review it (N.C.G.S. 7B-323(a)).
Charged with DWI? License consequences can begin at the arrest itself, before your first court date. The early days matter.
Court in the next two business days? Call now and say so.
General information, not legal advice. Your deadline depends on your papers; bring them and we will read them with you.
What happens when you call
Someone from our office takes your name, what happened, the county, and your court date. If someone is in custody, tell us first.
Before any consultation, we confirm we can take your case, so you never share your story with the wrong firm.
A 30-minute consultation by Zoom or at 826 N. Elm Street. You get the hard truth, and we explain our fee in writing before you hire us.

Attorney Micah E. Huggins explains what happens after a DWI charge in Greensboro. General information, not legal advice.
DWI defense
National College for DUI Defense, Inc.
The National College for DUI Defense is a national organization of lawyers who defend people charged with impaired driving. Membership is not a certification, and it does not promise any result. It means steady study of how DWI cases are made, so we can ask better questions about yours.
Some DWI consequences start before your first court date. If you or someone you love was charged, call us now.
General information, not legal advice. Every case is different, and past cases do not predict the outcome of yours.
How we work
Body camera, dash camera, lab reports, the officer’s training. We find what the report leaves out.
Plain answers about where you stand, your options, and what each one costs you.
Every case is built as if a jury will hear it. That is how every option stays open.
Arrested for DWI?
A short guide from our office: the 30-day revocation, driving to work after 10 days, the refusal deadline at DMV, and what to do before your first court date.
